Ganjacat was formed in a garage during the pandemic of 2020 with one microphone and an old computer. What started as a musical escape quickly escalated into a wave of creative output.

In 2022 Tim Roberts and Jesse Chong released the music they'd been working on as a series of singles under the name Ganjacat. Thanks to streaming algorithms, their tunes got grouped with a new wave of American reggae/rock artists. Ganjacat now has millions of streams and the unexpected success has pushed the duo to continue to release new music.

In 2024 Ganjacat played their first official live show at the Point Break Festival in their hometown of Virginia Beach. The band is currently working to expand their set and take the show on the road.
